Pinuti are swords from the central Visayan region and are commonly found on the islands of Leyte and Samar.  While the real swords may be longer, these are cut to approximately 24 inches (the one below came to 23”).  This is to maintain balance without compromising strength from cutting the blades too thin.  Also, the longer the blade, the harder it is to see the tip.  Even the difference from 21” to 24” can be a significant change.
